Where should we park?
Our parking lot is located off Bancroft Way just west of Dana Street. It is the first driveway on the left hand side of the street. There is a "Douglas Parking" sign and kiosk on our lot. There is no charge for parking if you are visiting us for worship or meeting with the pastor or staff.
What about kids?
We are glad to welcome kids to our church. Our worship is "wiggle friendly" so all ages are welcome. We offer a nursery for little ones during worship. For kids ages 5 - 10 we have Godly Play during worship so they can have some time to make new friends and learn.
What is Godly Play?
Kids who are ages 5 - 10 are invited to Godly Play. Godly Play helps children build on their innate sense of God and God's spirit. Children explore their faith through story, wonder, and play to grow in religious language and spiritual experience. The Godly Play approach uses Montessori principles and a spiral curriculum to expand children's horizons.
What is worship like?
Our hope is that worship is a place where you feel welcomed "just as you are" in a spirit of love and grace. You can make yourself at home with some coffee or tea and snack. Sometime between 10am and 10:05 (Trinity Standard Time) we begin worship with some brief words about upcoming events. We then pray, sing, listen to poetry, read scripture, listen to the preacher (who has been known to ask questions and invite dialog), share in communion, sing some more, pray, and be sent back to the world. Basically a fairly traditional format. We are a "come as you are" kind of church. It won't matter what you wear, or how you look, or how you are feeling: we are going to try to help you feel at home.
So worship is at 10am on Sunday?
Yup, 10am-ish. The truth is a lot of our members need an extra minute, or two, or 5, to arrive. We are ok with that! The world is complex enough without your church pressuring you about time. So get here when you can. We'll begin around 10ish and run just over an hour.
